Eliya Jungeun ...

Eliya Jungeun B graduated from the Department of Applied Music at the Seoul Institute of the Arts,

where she specialized in composition.

She began teaching at the university level at the age of 29 and spent twenty years imparting her expertise

at various institutions, including Dongduk Women’s University, Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts, and

Baekseok Arts University.

Her primary specializations were teaching composition, music theory, ensemble, sight-singing, and ear training, while also offering major courses in composition and singer-songwriter subjects.

During her college years, she entered the world of popular music by composing and writing lyrics for a singer

who won a bronze medal at the 'MBC College Song Festival' in South Korea.

She made notable contributions to popular music albums through composition, studio recordings on keyboards

and piano, and arranging string quartets.

In 2004, she wrote both the lyrics and music for the theme song 'Confession' for the movie 'Romance of Their Own,' which became popular in South Korea.

The film was screened in Japan in 2005, where a well-known Japanese artist performed 'Confession (Kokuhaku)'

for the soundtrack.

This was the only track recorded in Japanese, with the South Korean lyrics translated into Japanese.

Additionally, the song was featured on both the Japanese artist's single and full-length album, released the same year in Japan.

The song was subsequently remade three times by acclaimed South Korean artists.

Eliya also released her own music singles, titled 'ELIYA' and 'Prelude.'

Eliya created and volunteered for the "Inspirational Music Class," a program designed for elementary school students under the age of 10 at Yongsan International School of Seoul, South Korea, for two years.

The heartfelt voices of the children during these classes served as a wellspring of inspiration, fostering gratitude for those cherished moments.

This precious experience ultimately inspired her decision to publish her first literary work, a short story titled "GIFT," infused with the educational and philosophical themes that shaped her journey.

Moreover, "GIFT," her literary work, was inspired by ancient artifacts and historical relics, drawing from a segment of the theory classes she taught at the university, which covered elements of architecture, painting, history, and philosophy—partly in relation to music.

The book, GIFT, was first published in July 2023, and by July 2025, it had been translated into and published

in 20 languages.
